20cm Altar Moon Phase Board

As the moon orbits the earth and the earth orbits around the sun, the angle between all 3 changes. This results in the amount of sunlight that reflects off the moon.

The moon's surface changes from dark to all light and then dark again. These changes are called the lunar cycle/lunation/synodic month or lunar month.

Astronomers have broken the system into 4 primary phases - New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon and Last Quarter.
Secondary phases are Waxing Crescent, Waxing Gibbous, Waning Gibbous, Waning Crescent

These can either be hung, used as an altar board or as a side/centrepiece, creating a beautiful area to decorate further with herbs, crystals, bells and more.

Each board is designed, drawn and burnt by myself and finished with wood stains.

Please note there may be natural "imperfections" in the hand burning process, wood or crystals encorporated into the piece.
